Welcome Barkley Chase Helms

Sorry it has once again been so long since we have posted a blog. We have been extremely busy welcoming our new son into our lives. Barkley Chase Helms was born on December 21, 2005 at 12:12 AM, weighing in at 5 lbs 9 oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. Chase is a beautiful and healthy little boy and we give God all the Glory. We know that this is a true miracle from God and such a blessing to our lives. Of course we have been enjoying the roll of new parents. We do certainly appreciate all of the gifts, cards, emails, and phone calls that we received from you all.

After the first of the year we do plan to hit the road running. We have several special events that we are planning for this year one of which will be our annual women and men's conference this spring. Keep checking back to get more information about this and other events that will be happening. We love you all and hope to see you soon.

Love,

Terry, Jessica & Chase Helms

We Wish you a Merry Christmas!!

Hello!
We want to first start by saying how thankful we are to all of you for your concern and prayers during the past few weeks. Many of you heard of the accident that Jessica was involved in however we were so blessed that neither she nor the baby were hurt. Needless to say she was a little nervous and cried when she found out that her car was a total loss but as we all know those things can be replaced. Our unborn son is showing a little of his dad's impatience though as he again is wanting to make an early arrival. We are praying for just a few more weeks to give him a little more time to develop. Maybe we will have a Christmas baby? Again we do appreciate the prayers from all of you, we are so grateful to have such wonderful family and friends!
Sorry it has been so long since we have updated the web site but we promise once our lives return to "normal" (many say that will never happen) we will be back on top of things and get more updates on the web. We have been so busy preparing for the new baby that we have had little time to even think about Christmas shopping or decorating or anything of that nature. Last night while watching the news we noticed that one of the larger cities in our state has stopped calling any of the Christmas celebrations that they have by that name. The politically correct, as they are saying, is now a holiday tree, holiday parade, holiday celebration. Maybe if they spell it HOLYDAY it might be alright but it truly bothers me when people begin to take Christ out of Christmas. It is like an email that we received this week that says, imagine having a birthday party where you are to be the guest of honor, however no one wants to mention your name, much less show you gratitude or honor. So instead of being concerned about the last minute shopping and decorating that we normally do we are trying our best to make this more of time just to reflect on the Birth of Christ.
Much has changed since the over 2000 years ago when Mary gave birth to Christ. Technology has advanced so much that women can have children without experiencing the pain that was once associated with all births. Imagine if you will how Mary and Joseph must have felt when Jesus was born in a stable. Jessica and I just pray that we make it to the hospital so that we don't have to deliver in the car, of course either of the places would be much better than a stable. Jessica was worried about having enough blankets since the baby would be born during the winter, however our King of Kings and Lord of Lords was wrapped in swaddling clothes--my how our thinking seems to change if we stop and reflect. Friends, please let this CHRISTMAS season be a time to truly remember where the journey first begin. Don't worry if your gift is not the most popular or your tree leans a little to the left. Give the gift of letting your family and friends know that if your life should end at this very moment they can rest assured that you are Heaven bound and if they have made the same preparation that you will all live eternally with Christ in Heaven some day. As the birth of our son approaches, I can't think of a better gift that we could offer him than knowing that his mommy and daddy are born again Christians and upon accepting Christ in his life he has the same hope of eternal life all because one day there was a precious baby born in a stable, sent to save the souls of ALL MEN!

May God Bless you this HOLYDAY Season!

We love you all!
